The Greensboro Pacesetters Track Club is among the area’s oldest and most widely respected track clubs for serious young athletes. The club provides training and competitive opportunities for athletes ages 8 – 18 in the full range of track, field, and distance events.

Head Coach Charlie Brown has coached Track and Field and Cross Country for over 37 years and is currently Track & Field Coach for Southwest High School. Since he founded the Pacesetters, Coach Brown has taken young athletes to National Competition for 37 consecutive years. The Pacesetters Club has produced over 19 National Champions and has sent athletes to compete for over 42 Colleges and Universities.

Track and Field practice begins in mid-May and runs into July

Cross Country: Since Charlie Brown organized the first Greensboro Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone Park in 1984, the event has to include over 120 schools and Universities and 2500 runners, and the Pacesetters’ reputation for organizing and managing on-time, accurate and well-run Cross Country meets has spread. In 2015, the Club will host and manage 7 Cross Country meets, all held at the Piedmont’s beautiful Hagan Stone Park.
